i started this blog for a few different reasons, but never really kept it up. so i've decided to come up with a new reason to blog and hopefully, i'll keep up with it. i have things that i've wanted to try and never have and i think this will give me the opportunity to share those experiences. however, please note that i will not be eating bugs and doing crazy things like that. that's nasty. instead, i will do things that are on my unofficial bucket list or whatever pops up. i have a few adventures back logged, so i will start with those.
like i said, i had never seen this before and i wasn't really sure what to call it. paddle surfing? i had no idea. through the genius that is google, i came upon stand-up paddleboarding, or sup. i had learned what it was, but it seemed very new and kind of rare, and i was in no financial condition to purchase my own supplies, let alone cart them to the beach on my dilapidated volkswagen.
fast forward to [date to come] and through my fantastic job, i get hooked up with nate of tahoe sup. he has a couple paddleboards and offers to let me try one out. i initially declined citing my lack of board shorts. but, nate assured me that regular shorts would be fine and i wouldn't fall in or get wet.

amazingly enough, i did not fall in or get wet. it was actually quite easy and steady. as some sup sites have pointed out, this is a total body workout. once i get enough cash, i'm totally buying one of these. this was all done at lake castaic, but nate (coolest person in the world) has offered to take me out on the ocean with the paddleboards. an offer i will definitely take him up on.
stay tuned, more adventures to come.
